ramones'un politik bir şarkısıdır. söylenene göre şarkı, dönemin abd başkanı ronald reagon'ın batı almanya'da bir nazi mezarlığını ziyarete gidişi üzerine yazılır. şarkının ingiltere'de çıkış ismi "bonzo goes to bitburg"'dür. burda bonzo, ronald reagon'ın da oynadığı "bedtime for bonzo" filmindeki şempanzedir. bitburg ise mezarlığın olduğu yer. fakat şarkı abd'de ingiltere'de çıktığı gibi single olarak yayınlanmaz ve ismi my brain is hanging upside down olarak değiştirilir.

fakat daha sonra ramones siyasi olarak ayrılır. jeff hyman liberal bir yarı yahudi, johnny ramone ise reagon destekçisi bir cumhuriyetçidir. şarkının isminin değiştirilmesi için ısrar eden de yine johnny'dir.
